Hey there 👋 I’m Mel, 46, proudly from Birmingham. Your friendly neighbourhood NHS worker on the lookout for her Mrs or Mr Right — or at least someone who can make me laugh without trying too hard.
I’ve been single for two years after a long relationship, and I’ve decided it’s time to stop binge-watching Netflix and start writing a better story.
By day I’m in the NHS, chatting to all sorts of lovely (and occasionally bonkers) people. I’ve got one daughter who still lives at home, so my house is basically a mix of teenage drama and horse hair.
What I’m into:
I’m music mad — I swing from fancy orchestral stuff to proper brass band bangers and brasshouse (yes, I’m classy like that). I love being outdoors, exploring, and we squeeze in a few camping trips a year (I can cook sausages on a campfire and still look semi-glam). I’m also completely in love with my trusty camper van — we pootle around the UK together, me pretending I know where I’m going while the satnav has a meltdown and I end up in a muddy field with a boot full of snacks and zero phone signal.
Bonus points if you’re up for eating out, cinema trips, theatre plays, reading in cosy corners, or hanging out with my horses 🐎. When the mood strikes, I turn into a baking queen… though my kitchen sometimes looks like a flour explosion.
I enjoy a drink but I’m not a big boozer, so a light drinker or happy non-drinker would be perfect.
I’m more than happy to travel a reasonable distance for the right person. If you’re worth it, I’ll even wear matching socks.
