About PipsterL
PipsterL is divorced and is seeking females for a serious relationship.
What do you like most about where you currently live?
I moved back to the UK after 25 years overseas (Canada, U.S., Turkey, Sint Maarten, and St. Kitts), to a small town called Moffat in the Scottish borders. I love Moffat for being small, and the highstreet is full of family owned businesses: Two bakers, a butcher, and a chemists for example. It's a tourist town, and coach trips stop here most days. The surrounding countyside is gorgeous too!
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
I retired as of Dec. 2025. I was a Professor of Neuropsychiatry for an American medical school based in NYC, but worked on our St. Kitts campus in the Caribbean. I helped to train medical doctors to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination, Step-1. My focus was on psychiatric disorders that have, at least in theory if not practice, neurological explanations. Which in turn, means more focus on psychopharmacology. Its not really a question about enjoying something most, or least. You kind of dedicate yourself to this kind of work or you don't.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
I grow my own vegtables because I have the time, and they taste so much better. I've fly fished for trout for over thirty years (catch and release, of course!). As well as reading, I have an extensive movie and music collection. Other than that, I can often be found playing pool at our local pub with friends. Cooking is another big thing with me, mainly Indian, Chinese, French, Italian, and Spanish dishes.
Where in the world are your favourite places?
I've lived in seven different countries, so its hard to name favourite places, so to speak. I'm considered pretty much a Caribbean islander having lived there for over eleven years. I've fly fished in Chilean Patagonia twice, but fishing aside its hard to say its a favourite place. I have a good friend in NYC with whom I stay, who also lends me her apartment in St. Kitts when I want to go back so those two loom large.
Where in the world would you love to visit?
I do enjoy visiting non-tourist places, such villages in Spain. I'd like to explore Italy, for example.
What would you do on an ideal date?
An ideal date would be lunch or dinner at a decent restaurant perhaps. It would really depend on what the lady wanted to do to be honest. An ideal date would be a joint decision.
What are you looking for in a partner?
What I'm looking for in a partner is a tough question, because I'm a terrible romantic. I want my lady to feel that the sun, the moon, and the stars revolve around her. And I'd want her to make me feel the same way. Honesty, trust worthiness, and empathy are important dimensions in any relationship.
What makes a good relationship?
Emotional intelligence to empathise with each othe's feelings, desires, and needs.Taking other people's feelings into account, and going the extra mile are important. Not because you have to, but because you want to. Listening to one another is critical, of course.
What makes you laugh?
Just all kinds of things. Anybody who only laughs at one class of ideas or situations really needs to get a broader perspective on life.
What music do you like?
My musical tastes are very eclectic. But if forced to answer, then R&B, which runs into rock. But also country. Pop songs aren't out of the equation either. Old school Soca, and soul.
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
I could say gaining my Ph.D. But, really I think the highlight of my life was buying my beautiful cottage and thoroughly renovating it exactly in the way that I dreamed of. You'd have to see it to appreciate it!
What are you looking forward to in the future?
I'm pretty contented, but I hope my future has a wonderful woman in it to share experiences going forward. I'm perfectly capable of living on my own, but life would be so much more interesting with another person in it. Again, it's not what I want out of the future, but what my lady and I want together.
The problem with looking younger question?
I have a problem, insofar that I look a lot younger than I actually am. I'm half English and half Chinese. You know the Chinese young looking gene thing. And it is a problem. I've had people ask me whether my date was my aunty before, which is embarrasing to say the least. So if I message you, and you're somewhat younger than I am, it's not that I am specifically looking for younger women. I'm not, and have dated women older that me. Rather that it really helps if my date and I actually look like we're the same age, if you get my drift.
