I am English [that's half of you pressed delete]
I moved up to Scotland a few years ago now. Initially just to revisit and spend a long time travelling around and enjoying the scenery and history. But then got offered a very reasonable little house to rent and am now here for good.
I have a self build camper. It is basic but does me and is the cheapest place I have found to stay. The van has 405k miles on the clock so every time it starts now I sacrifice a goat to the gods of the tarmac.
I retired early last year only because I can manage through to retirement age on my small armed forces pension.
I am debt free but always need another penny if I want to rub two together.
I love the travelling and visiting but it would be so much better with someone to share the memories, have a laugh, and remember that we were all young once.
Just purchased a kayak so will either drown this summer or have some fun on the water.

What do you like most about where you currently live?
Small town. Close to the hills.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
Retired early. Have done some volunteering but looking forward to traveling again.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
I moved to Scotland because I love the history and scenery. I built a basic camper and that lets me go anywhere and park up. I enjoy reading about the history. I have a persistent urge to learn more.
Where in the world are your favourite places?
I have travelled fairly widely but have to say the Scotland does it for me.
Where in the world would you love to visit?
Can honestly say that there is nowhere that beckons.
What would you do on an ideal date?
Short date to see if there is any commonality or chemistry. A walk and a cuppa would seem plenty.
What are you looking for in a partner?
Someone who enjoys a gentle walk. Is not afraid of a little rain. Hopefully has an interest in history and can hold both sides of a conversation.
What makes a good relationship?
We can get set in our ways as we get older. So a little compromise must be in there. Otherwise, some joint interest or willingness to share interests. Reliability and of course trust.
What makes you laugh?
British comedy mainly, but also Steve Martin.
What music do you like?
I am not a big music listener nowadays and am not up on charting music. Was mad on EDM back in the day; breakbeat, trance, hard dance, etc. Now I do have moments when I run down memory lane for a night on Youtube listening to anything from Queen and Bowie to Led Zeppelin and 60's classics.
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
I've had a few things to blow my trumpet about. I helped start a charity back in the early '90s which is now quite a big thing. I was very well respected in my niche computing field in the 2000s. Later I built another charity business which unfortunately was a victim of the Covid lockdowns.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
Would love to make special memories with someone.
