Are there any genuine ladies out there looking for a serious, long-term relationship with a genuine man? By this I mean meeting to do activities that we both enjoy and going away together for short breaks or longer holidays, in the UK and possibly abroad.

I am not looking to remarry nor live together as I imagine at our age we will both have our own house or other dwelling. Nor am I looking for multiple casual relationships (e.g. one-night stands). There are other websites for those.

I enjoy a number of leisure activities including DIY, singing, going for walks in the country, visiting antiques centres and collecting antiques, going to concerts, visiting historic places and museums, watching classic films, dining out, cooking (I am a reasonably good cook), going away for weekend breaks at good hotels. I don't have much interest in sport apart from tennis (watching) and darts and ten-pin bowling (playing).

A bit of biographical data. I am a retired electronic engineer and worked for various companies until my retirement in 2014. I have travelled to many places around the world on business, including most of Western Europe, the USA and Japan.

I am in pretty good health for my age, though I wouldn't call myself super-fit. I am happy to prove my age. There is no point lying about it, you will be found out.

I have two grown-up children, a daughter who lives in Cambridge who has two grown-up sons and a son who lives in Manchester and has two younger daughters.
I would describe myself as honest, loyal, reliable, kind, friendly, loving, with a quirky sense of humour. I would like to meet a lady with similar qualities. Personality is far more important than age or looks.
