About Johncornes
Johncornes is widowed and is seeking females for a serious relationship.
What do you like most about where you currently live?
I like the varied spaces to walk with my husky dog, Kiera. Seaside strolls or windblown moorland wanderings! I enjoy visiting historical sites across the area. The general accessibility of the Moors and beaches are appealing.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
I am now retired, having spent circa 40 years working in health and social care as a social worker and then as a team manager is the disabilities sector.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
Walking my dog!!! I also play walking football on Saturday mornings for a couple of hours. Swimming in the sea is always bracing and invigorating.
I recently did a glass painting workshop using medieval techniques which was very interesting.
Photos on the phone to capture those unexpected and humorous moments 😃
Where in the world are your favourite places?
I am absolutely in love with Greece. Stoupa in the Peloponnese is my happy place to go to on an annual basis.
I travelled extensively in Mexico and throughout Europe over the years.
Visiting Ireland (I'd like to do a road trip there to see all the Celtic landmarks/places of interest.)
Where in the world would you love to visit?
Belize and Guatemala are definitely on my list of must visit countries in order to complete my historical affinity with the Mayan culture.
The Nordic countries - a trip up the Fjords for the history and amazing views on a relaxing cruise.
Revisit and explore all the Celtic countries - Ireland; Scotland; Wales; Brittany again.
I'd like to revisit the Orkney Isles to marvel at the amazing monuments and walk around at three in the morning when it is still only dusk.😃
What would you do on an ideal date?
I'd take my partner to an hotel with lots of atmosphere, and an open fire.. Location has to have places of interest to visit. We'd walk, talk, eat and most importantly, laugh.
What are you looking for in a partner?
Openness, honesty and being grounded . The ability to enjoy shared interests, but be open and receptive to each other's interests and opinions (there is no right or wrong - just different perspectives!). .
To enjoy music (and open my eyes to new musical experiences and genres) and to love books and films.
To have an opinion and not afraid to express it. Being respectful of diversity and embrace the 'citizen of the world' approach to living.. To use life experiences as a bedrock to develop an harmonious and exciting next phase of our lives.
What makes a good relationship?
Mutual respect: We are all unique individuals and citizens of the world. Embrace life and share whatever comes our way with positivity; humour and determination. Mutual support and lots of smiles. The ability to see good and strive to be the best we can.
Being able to gaze into an open fire and feel at one with each other.
What makes you laugh?
Spike Milligan; The Pink Panther and Peter Kay especially.. Irreverent humour when something crops up, that makes you smile
You've got to be able to see the funny side of life.
What music do you like?
I have a large collection of music - popular stuff like folk; indie; Walker Brothers type 60's bands; world music and Reggae (Bob Marley especially).
Bands like Sparks and T. Rex so I can relive my youth.
Classical - Motzart and Liszt especially. Relax and enjoy!!
I am very open to being introduced to new music outside of my current interests - variety is the spice of life!
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
Having two wonderful daughters and a grandson.
Feeling that during my working life the roles I had made a positive difference to a range of people.
I am grateful to have a very few close friends, who are always there, no matter what.
Being blessed to have been the coach of a wonderful team of girls who won the league title three years after being formed.
To have been married to a wonderful wife who sadly passed way far too soon and to think that I have given my best every day of my life.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
To move forward and share a life with someone who has a zest for life and wants to explore new experiences/places. To live with passion but not possession. To continue to be the best I can be and make a positive difference to people's lives. Embrace the time each day gives us - the future is unwritten but we can start shape it together now.
