About me: I work with Software, it’s fun but means I sometimes have to go to visit customers. This can be good - I’ve had trips to Australia, America and South Africa as well as much of Europe - and bad, let’s say there’s a lot of difference between Melbourne and Crawley!
I read.
A lot.
I am not literary, I read sci-fi and fantasy and have a wide interest in history. I’m a gamer, old style analogue not consoles and I paint toy soldiers. I’ve been doing these things since I was about 10 and am not stopping now! But it’s a large part of my life and personal space.
I drink, but lightly.
I have a huge soft spot for museums and can struggle to resist passing by a good castle.
I’m overly fond of good food but trying hard to remove the excess pounds, it’s a struggle.
Like dogs.
Dislike cats.
Have kids, they’re always going to be a part of my life and that’s not negotiable. Together they make Lord Byron (although hopefully not the whole deal!).
Waffle madly under pressure and despite working with people have the social skills of a particularly challenged spaniel.
I do music, as in listen, but my tastes aren’t for everyone. That’s fine, I don’t play it too loudly!
I’m educated but never really grasped culture - I appreciate its existence but the theatre leaves me mostly cold.
I like comedy, as long as it’s not hostile - laugh at situations, don’t pick on people.
Not sure what else to say - not been in this place for a while - does it show?

Finally as a silly bit of information I used to be fluent in Ancient Egyptian (not so much now) and Latin which is, as I’m sure you’ll agree, a vital skill in today’s society….but it probably sums me up!

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

Varied and constantly changing. With the occasional bonus of added international travel. Keeps me busy and sometimes even gets me out of the house and onsite. Which is ice, except for when the M25 is involved.

What are your favourite leisure activities?

I’m a reader and a gamer - less pc, more analog - with an interest in history. Pretty much all - although I dog share and enjoy walking them too.

What music do you like?

More at the rock/metal end of the spectrum but occasionally other songs will hit the right note. Don’t do all the grisly stuff though, I usually prefer to be able to understand the lyrics. Although hearing them is sometimes good enough!
