About DickieBeau
DickieBeau is single and is seeking females for friendship or a casual relationship or a serious relationship.
My personality is intuitive/sensitive INFP. My mood is chaotic/dramatic, so I like to keep things simple/untidy and try not to act on extreme sentiment. I'm socially amiable, but a bit clueless on some unwritten signals, so be frank if I'm not getting it. My small talk can run into depths on occasion. The shallow end can be insincere, dull, and limiting, but has an appropriate place. I like to read (LitRPG, fan-fic, alt-hist and steamy - my thoughts stray, but I don't), board game (GMT card based, euro-games, OCS), RPGs and watch live football (Cambridge United). I like sex and cuddles a lot, but I'm not addicted, and I don't like chaffing and being inseparable. Seeking to be emotionally supportive and a stable part of your life. Music, art, poetry, literature, history, science, and engineering, they all appeal. Communicating and exploring ideas generally interest me.
I used to be wild-er (didn't we all) and only recently gave up protest squatting (resident occupation). I've "sold out" from anarchist to left wing mixed economy socialist. I lean left, but not so far as to fall over. My geeky friends are stuck as medium-heavy drinkers, communists and anarchists, but I have been lucky and only drink lightly in drinking company (sometimes). All well house-trained, bright and delightful company. I'm more about the pressure coffee and sometimes tea. Freegan pescatarian avoiding carbs to keep diabetes (type 2) in remission. BMI = weight in Kg divided by (height in meters squared). Under 30!
I do like a glamorous and flirty woman, but anyone smart enough to be interesting and interested will do me nicely. I need time doing my own thing (and/or chill out), but I also need to spend time with your company. The intimacies of relating through a day and or night are sorely missed. I live alone and would like someone local to visit often, but not move in with. I'm looking for a close, good friend with dates in and out too. I can cook and have soaked up enough about the world to have interesting things to say and have interest in new ideas. Although I would welcome more practice.
I draw the "local" line at 13.5 miles radius from Cherry Hinton, but rail/busway extends that out to Huntingdon, St Edmunds, Stevenage, Bishop's Stortford and Ely. Anyone over 30 miles away is completely impractical, no matter the transport arrangements. We could try both living here, but I can be hard to live with. Not just because of the hour long Sudoku, board games, online fiction and untidiness.
I don't watch TV, yet have a huge 55in UHD screen for movies and select (Sci-fi) series. Waste of a licence, really. I'll eat seafood, but otherwise vegetarian. I don't and won't drive. Have my heart set on keeping my flat to live in, even if I stay at yours. Furthermore, I've got about 20–30 years left in me. Plenty of life, too. If you like to treat your man and make him feel lucky and special, then I am especially keen to make things work between us. I have a lot to give and only ask for one sincere lover with a social interest in going out and spending time together.
Salt and pepper (grey, silver, some dark) doesn't take hair dye well. A shame as I'd love to try out some bold colours. I have income, ideas, hope, poetry and desire. I'm above average in many ways, but I leave you to discover some things on our real life encounters. How else am I going to find out more about you? I'm loyal, amorous and monogamous, but not clingy. WLTM emotional, physical and intellectual perfection or best offer - you are all lovely in different ways. I can't kiss a smoker. The smell is on their clothes and body.
Massive, eye-watering sense of humour.
Please don't be surprised if I message you if you look at my profile.
What do you like most about where you currently live?
It has great views of trees, lawns and the community. It is secure. An assured tenancy. It's the edge of Cambridge, so I get the City shops in reach, but with cleaner air and quiet(er) outside the window. Only one floor up.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
My job is to stay out of trouble and I'm doing well. I have a mood disorder that makes me a bit changeable and impulsive. I study online to cope with it better and I have had a lot of practice over the years. I just come across as quirky and interesting.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
I'm all about the leisure. I stress out easily so relaxing is important to me. Today I read on the net (fan fiction), chatted with a neighbour over coffee, cleared up a board game on the table (Twilight Struggle), fixed a puncture on my bike and looked for love on here. The reading and board games are regular favourites and I watch Cambridge United at the Abbey too.
Where in the world are your favourite places?
Home, beautiful Cambridge. Greece, Portugal, Egypt, USA, Ibiza Spain, France and Sicily Italy. All the places I've visited have been lovely, but home is my top favourite. Relaxed, secure, comfortable and familiar. A remainer in every sense.
Where in the world would you love to visit?
Travelling is okay, but costs the Earth. If you want to travel, I'd be with you and offer good experienced advice. Languages are tricky, but any phrases you know add so much to embracing the country. So Canada or Australia would be good that way.
What would you do on an ideal date?
On and ideal date I would show my better side and see yours. I don't expect ideal, but it would be lovely. Some time spent outdoors. A walk and talk. Stop off for a cuppa and a chat. Share an experience (live music, a film or live football match). Then a meal out somewhere. Not too steep, but not a burger place either (fish or vege please). We might travel by bus or bicycle. Plenty there to find out more about you and what you like doing.
What are you looking for in a partner?
Someone cool. A life enough like mine that we can fit each other in with general living. Someone that keeps things easy for me. Passion. Ideally no tattoos, like myself. Someone close enough to visit either here or there. If you are over 20 miles away think twice about a like. It may lead to a lot of travel or nothing at all.
What makes a good relationship?
Communication and wanting the relationship. We both need to understand what is wanted and expected of our relationship. We have to be honest. With each other and ourselves. The chat is so much better in the open anyway. I can't wait to start.
What makes you laugh?
Irony, puns, satire and creative silliness. Not very ticklish (I challenge you).
That my profile picture was taken May 2022. It has been a hard summer.
What music do you like?
Musician's music. Good arrangements, compositions and lyrics. Something you can dance or trance to. Mostly 20th century out of ignorance (mea culpa).
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
Every time I have felt in love. They say the first is best, but they keep getting better as I learn more about people.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
Getting slimmer and fitter. I'm keen to ditch the diabetes I've picked up.
Why have you marked disability?
My limitations are all in the mind. I have mood instability and that makes me anxious and depressed at times in the day. Yet I also feel more impulsive and joyous. I try not to take my mood too seriously and ground myself in philosophy. I know I can be a good partner over years as I have been before. Right now I'd be happy (mostly) with some company and conversation.
