You know when you're being interviewed for a job and you're asked, why they should employ you? Well this has that same feeling, except, why should you date me? That's jumping the gun a bit. A message is the first point of contact. So why should you get in touch?

Well firstly, I will reply. I enjoy communicating and will aim to engage you in conversation with more than two word answers. I will be interested to learn more about you. I'm reasonably intelligent and can talk about most subjects, though some topics may be beyond me, but I'm willing to listen and learn.

You'll also find I'm a warm, affectionate and caring person, with a positive nature. I've been assured I'm easy to get on with and 'not hard work'. I treat people how I want to be treated and looking for someone who has these values too. I feel that friendship is a great starting base. I'm not materialistic and enjoy the simple things in life, like picnics in the park, walks along the beach, see a sunset, sunrise.

I enjoy doing all the usual things people do. Travel, theatre, cinema, walks, exploring places with lots of history, dining out or cosy nights in. More enjoyable with someone to share them with.

I'm not looking for ONS or FWB.

What do you like most about where you currently live?

My family is close by. I'm not too far from some lovely countryside and walks by the river.

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

I work for myself, doing something I love, so able to organise my time.

What are your favourite leisure activities?

I love musical theatre, cinema, walks, I write, holidays here and abroad, exploring places of interest.

Where in the world are your favourite places?

In the UK it has to be the Cornish coast, although there's plenty of places I still want to see. I love historical places which Italy and Crete had in plenty.

Where in the world would you love to visit?

Places that have either historical features or breath taking scenery.

What would you do on an ideal date?

Meet somewhere we both agree on. Spend time getting to know each other, lots of conversation and hopefully laughs.

What are you looking for in a partner?

Someone with similar values to myself. That illusive connection.

What makes a good relationship?

Communication, friendship, trust, honesty and lots of affection.

What makes you laugh?

Anything from my grandchildren's giggles to a good comedy.

What music do you like?

I like most kinds, especially 60's.
Anything from cheesy music that gets you dancing to rock.

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

Apart from my children and grandchildren. Getting a degree at the age of 53 and publishing my books.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

Seeing my family achieve everything they're able to.
