My life has fallen apart quite frequently. In 2001, my American wife and I were living in the Chicago area. I was diagnosed with heart failure via a pre-employment medical. Still managed to work at my dream job for the next decade but in 2010 had to have a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted and went on disability. Became foster parents (no bio kids), but then a few years later my heart function improved and my disability income was stopped. We lost our home and foster care license. Managed to find a driving job to help support us - then started having dizzy spells... Finally, in December 2023 my wife was diagnosed with metastatic kidney cancer - she went on ahead on June 7th 2024. Since then I've been grieving, moved back to the UK, and now trying to figure out what's next. Started a couple of jobs over the last 6 months but can't do full-time.
