I Like Cats

Before I tell you anything about myself, I have a confession to make. I know this will be off putting to many, but I have to be honest from the start.

I’m am a cat person.

I know this is something a man shouldn’t admit. I SHOULD be saying I am a dog person. I should have pictures of me with a dog, showing how fit, masculine and outdoorsy I am. Dog people are known to be friendly, outgoing and reliable. Looking after a dog means you are responsible, stable, dependable and ordered. And dogs are loyal. They will fight for you, and protect you if they can.

But there is just something about cats . . .

Cats are different. You don’t really own a cat, they just allow you to look after them and come back to you if you treat them well. They are intelligent but won’t do what you say unless they want to. They live their lives on their own terms and just allow you to be part of it, not control it. But they can recognise if you need support and comfort you, just as well as dogs. And my earlier supposition that cats won’t defend you seem to have been totally disproved by YouTube; I’ve seen them attack bears to save children, unbelievable! Cats are amazing.

So I do like dogs, very much actually. I have had dogs before and may do so again. But I Love cats, I love their curiosity, their independence and their charm.

I know that’s not what you wanted to hear and I will not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Do you think you can see past this? If you can, I am introspective, independent and can be lots of fun in the right company. I prefer deep, intimate conversation to meaningless chitchat. Status and power doesn’t impress me, unless it’s used for good. I can be creative, up for spontaneous adventure and love to push boundaries. I have a zest for life. laugh often and am passionate about learning and growing. I want to experience as much of this crazy amazing planet as I can, while I still can.

Basically, I lead a very complicated life and I am seeking a girl to add some much-needed complication.
