I've been on my own since 2019 and I love the freedom that gives me ... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like a close male friend to share some good times with. Nothing too heavy ... just enjoying life and doing the couple-y things!

I'm a generally happy person who gets on with most people. I have been retired for a little while now and have built a good circle of friends through my choir, craft group and volunteering with a local hospice and another group who lead singing sessions for people living with a dementia.

I like to get out and about as much as I can. My favourite days out involve a 6 or 7 mile walk followed by coffee and cake!

However ... I don't do foreign travel, large cities, complicated family situations or traditional Christmases so, if these are important to you, I'm probably not your perfect match LOL

I'm a bit of a one-off, but all the more interesting for that. Maybe you are too?

What am I looking for?

Someone who will join me on days out in the country. Sometimes I like to walk, sometimes I like to visit a historic building or beautiful garden, sometimes I just want to find a fabulous view and gaze at it.

If this works out, I'd like that someone to enjoy longer trips with me. They don't need to be far away ... Devon, Cornwall and Wales are my favourite places

Someone who enjoys good quality (and that doesn't necessarily have to mean posh!) food and will enjoy going out to country pubs and interesting restaurants. Someone with whom I can hold a good conversation while we are there. If this "someone" is also a good cook themselves, then even better! I've become a bit rusty in the culinary skills department over the last few years but I'm willing to be your sous chef and learn!

Someone who loves music. Anything we can sing along to in the car, in the kitchen, wherever! Someone who enjoys watching a talented band in a local pub or small theatre more than paying a fortune to see someone famous from half a mile away in a vast stadium.

Someone who values their independence and is happy in their own space when we're not together. I envisage a close and intimate friendship, which will hopefully last for a long time, but I don't ever see myself being a 24/7 partner again. Better to be honest about these things, right?

One of my main reasons for being here is to restore my faith in "man-kind" so, if you like what you see, be brave and send that message ... who knows where it might lead?!
