About Runtil100
Runtil100 is divorced and is seeking males for friendship.
Thanks for looking at my profile / description. That's already a good start, and I appreciate it. Please note, if in contacting me you show that you have read my profile, you will get a reply. If you can only be bothered to send a wink or a "hi" or a reference, however flattering, to my photo, you will probably not. Please note also that I am only looking for "friends". This is not a polite way of saying, "sex". If sex is what you want, you are wasting your time with me.
At 81, on-going health problems mean I am not very fit at all, but I really want to regain some aerobic fitness and muscle power. I would love to find a compatible person living near me with whom to enjoy short walks and / or to encourage me back to the gym. I would also like to share my enthusiam for trees, wild flowers, wildlife gardening, public transport, maybe photography.
I have an on-going project to learn French and have reahed quite a good level, so if you are francophone please do get in touch.
Thank-you for reading this far. Good luck everyone.
What do you like most about where you currently live?
I am within walking distance of the Railway Station Bus Station, Central Library, Markets, supermarkets, Puregym, but also Woodhouse Moor and the Hyde Park Picture house. A half mile walk takes me to the X84 bus stop for Otley, Ilkley and the Dales. And yet my house is very peaceful, with wildlife (aka untended) gardens front and back.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
Being retired is wonderful. I should rejoice in this more often.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
Reading, writing and improving my French. Taking photographs (mainly point and shoot). Conversation. I seem to spend a lot of time surfing the net and watching videos on Youtube, which is enjoyable in a gruesome kind of way. Activities I want to get back to: fair weather walking in the Washburn Valley, Calderdale or Lower Wharfedale. (I don't much like rain or mud.) Weight training at the gym. Watching French films. If you think women naturally like/do housework, I might surprise you.
Where in the world are your favourite places?
Les Alpes de Haute Provence. Bluebell woods. Flowering meadows. The Washburn Valley. Lower Wharfedale. Calderdale. Eccup Reservoir. Leeds!
Where in the world would you love to visit?
These days I prefer to sleep in my own bed.
What would you do on an ideal date?
1st date: a coffee and maybe a short walk. Later: long walks? Travel on public transport? Visit art museums, take photos, watch art movies? Talk.
What are you looking for in a partner?
Openness, interest in me, shared love of physical activity and the outdoors. Taking good care of his body and health. Enthusiasm for friendship.
What makes a good relationship?
Freedom. A shared sense of humour.
What makes you laugh?
Some novels eg Barbara Pym, Nancy Mitford. Cartoons in "the Spectator".
What music do you like?
Classical Baroque. Elvis Presley.
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
Completing the Sky Ridge, completing the High Peak Marathon, standing on the summit of Mont Blanc. These were all long ago. More recently, (but still long ago) meeting self-devised challenges in the southern French mountains.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
The challenges of old age. Learning to take better photographs. Maybe writing more. Finding new friends. Peace in my garden.
How green are you?
Could do better. Don't drive. Do refuse supermarket plastic bags. Don't have central heating. Wear synthetic fleece top,,hat & neck muff to keep warm indoors, which is fine for reducing heating emissions but will eventually pose a recycling problem. Eat some organic but not even half. Have donated my body after my death for research, but it will eventually be incinerated. Is that better or worse than opting for a green burial?
