Hello. I'm a retired executive from the high tech. industry, living in Somerset on the edge of what's either a large village or a very small town. Now a widower, I have lived here for the last 15 years having moved from the Reading area, although I've lived and worked in various places in the past, including the USA and Germany. I now do voluntary work for the NHS as a lay person in the field of medical research. Originally, I'm from Portsmouth in Hampshire.

I have 3 children of my own, 2 stepchildren, and what seems like a small army of very energetic grandchildren who are a delight. I'm lucky enough to have a spacious house and garden with friends and family living not too far away.

I've travelled a lot, and travelling for leisure is miles better than travelling on business. There has been a long list of destinations so far and I'm hoping for more to come. Mainly warm places - bit of a sun worshipper! Over the last few years I've learned - or maybe re-learned - a couple of really important things: Kindness to others matters, and we should make the most of the time we have while we can. And so, for the latter thing it would be lovely to find someone who wants to do the same, and likes me enough to want do it together.
