About RCowdery
RCowdery is single and is seeking females for friendship or a serious relationship.
A Bit About Me:
I'm a 31 Year old guy, with mildish Cerebral Palsy on the left side (Basically cannot use my left hand), and have High Functioning Autism that is also known as Aspergers, but apart from that I'm perfectly capable.
My Beliefs: I'm an Evangelical Christian who is very modern and is not legalistic. My faith is important to me but I'm not a traditionalist, although I do appreciate the odd hymn. I believe that I am saved by grace alone and not by works.
My Hobbies: I Love all things Train and Tube related (including the InterCity 125 High Speed Train, and Class 91 InterCity 225 Sets that have run on the East Coast Mainline (I don't expect you to know half what I've just written!!), and my passion for the London Underground has lead me for working with the company.
I am also a Google and Android Super Fan and currently rock one of Google's Pixel Android Phones and a Google Pixelbook Chromebook, and my home is decked out with lots of Google Smart Gadgets and other Smart Home tech.
Oh and I'm a Big Foodie and love all sorts of different cuisines and going out to restaurants.
Lastly I can be shy so don't be afraid to say hello by messaging me if I've shown interest.
What do you like most about where you currently live?
I currently live in Sutton, South London.
It is great as its still in Greater London so getting to Central London is easy 30 mins by train or 10-20mins by bus to Morden for the Northern Line to Central London, but I can easily escape in the other direction to the countryside for some peace and quiet, at Box Hill in Surrey for example, which is a short drive or train ride away.
Within Sutton itself I currently live off the main Town Centre and so have all the high street shops and supermarkets plus restaurants on my front door. Our Empire Cinema reopened in 2018 after a major rebuild featuring leather recliners, sofas & special D Box screens where the seats move to the film action on screen!
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
I Currently work for London Underground as a Customer Service Assistant.
I enjoy using my in-depth knowledge of the system as part of my interests to help those who use the Underground and National Rail to get around.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
As I said in my introduction I'm a Big Foodie so love eating out in restaurants and due to the pandemic having takeaways delivered. I just need that someone to share the experience with. I love Chinese, Indian, Thai and Good Old British Cuisine to name just a few.
Before Lockdown I enjoyed going to the Cinema and on special occasions seeing West End Shows up in Theatreland. My favourite genre of films are Comedies and Rom-Com's.
Oh and of course I love immersing myself around trains and travelling on them.
Where in the world are your favourite places?
My various holidays:
I have been to Paris on my own via Eurostar (of course) for a few nights back in 2016, where I went up the Eiffel Tower, visited the Louvre and enjoyed a river cruise on the River Seine. I also very much enjoyed the traditional french cuisine of Frogs Legs and Snails!
In previous years I have enjoyed spending some time in my summer holidays up in North Yorkshire where my grandad lives to enjoy a slow pace of life, the Moors, and the legendary Fish & Chips in Whitby! not forgetting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
My Pre Covid travels have been to:
Newcastle - just as the Coronavirus was kicking off here in the UK (I got back safely on one of my favourite trains the InterCity 225 / Class 91). I loved my time in Newcastle even though it was cut short. I had a wonderful 4 Hour walking tour of the city and visited the nearby Tanfield Railway to soak up some steam action! I'll be back as soon as travel restrictions and lockdown is lifted!
Nottingham - Specifically to Ruddington nearby and the Great Central Railway to ride the Prototype HST Train, back in February 2019 where I also visited the Museum of Justice.
Manchester - 2019: Which I absolutely enjoyed amongst things such as a doing a 3 Hour Taxi Tour of the city where I discovered there is much more to Manchester than Football! I also visited the Museum of Science and Industry and the Museum of Transport Greater Manchester, along with riding the Manchester Metrolink and visiting MediaCity UK.
Edinburgh - November 2019 - 5 days visiting Edinburgh including Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holyrood House and having a Tour of Edinburgh and the Royale Mile and the world famous Firth of Forth Railway Bridge.
Liverpool 2018 - I stayed a few nights in Liverpool with a Mad Day Out Beatles Taxi Tour and loved the city so much that I went back in October that year and explored further including both Liverpool Cathedrals and the Museum of Liverpool. Along with Newcastle, and Manchester it's definitely a city I want to visit again some time in the future.
Sheffield 2017 - I went to experience the gift of driving a steam train at the nearby, by normal train, Elsecar Heritage Centre.
Where in the world would you love to visit?
New York and Australia.
New Zealand where my late grandma originated from.
Hong Kong where my mother grew up as my grandparents emigrated there.
I am also keen to explore more of the UK spurred on by the All The Stations YouTube Channel and challenge where Geoff Marshall and Vicki Pipe visited every National Rail station in the UK.
What would you do on an ideal date?
For a First Date Meeting Up for a Coffee, Meal and a Stroll somewhere picturesque.
For a Second or Third Date: Ten Pin Bowling or a Trip to the Cinema
In any case having somewhere we can get to know each other better that is more quiet at first would be great as I can be anxious to start with, but as I say it depends how things go on the day :)
What are you looking for in a partner?
Someone kind hearted fun loving and easy going who doesn't take my disabilities to heart and accepts them and that can help me grow as a person.
I would also like someone who doesn't mind correcting me when I make mistakes and gives me the opportunity to put things right, as due to my High Functioning Autism I don't always "get things".
I am keen to settle down with the one after being single for nearly all of my life.
Attractiveness is key but I'm not looking for Mrs Perfect. Body shape does not matter!
What makes a good relationship?
Love, Trust and Caring.
Being there and supporting one another.
A fun loving attitude helping to get through life's many varying obstacles.
What makes you laugh?
I can find understanding jokes difficult but once you get to know me you'll know what makes me laugh.
What music do you like?
I love a bit of everything from The Beatles, 70's ABBA, 80s, 90s, Pop, Dance & Current Tunes through to Classical a real mixed bag.
As a Christian I just don't take the words to heart and make it influence how I behave. To me it's all about the beat & rhythm of the track.
The Greatest Showman, Bohemian Rhapsody and Mamma Mia Movie Soundtracks are some of the Movie Soundtracks I like along with the music of Bruce Springsteen from the Blinded By The Light movie.
In terms of Christian music I really enjoy Priesthood and the Sprinkle Me Luv album, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and Hollyn.
I also enjoy a bit of Chris Tomlin including my favourite "Holy is the Lord".
I have discovered that there is a lot of dance music people have been raving to for years in nightclubs and not really knowing its by christian artists or has got christian lyrics these include: Candi Staton - You've Got The Love, the famous Bootleg version is the best (Florence & The Machine also covered it), Phats& Small - Turn Around and Mary Mary - Shackles.
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
Overcoming my disabilities to achieve a life of Independence and Employment and showing to others that someone with mild Cerebral Palsy and High Functioning Autism can achieve.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
Settling down and sharing the rest of my life with that someone special.
My Christian Faith
I have been a Christian since December 2012. I have struggled with my faith often, but with the help of close family members and someone from my church I'm really starting to flourish and see God move mountains. I would love to continue on this journey to develop and grow my faith with that someone special.
I go to an Evangelical, Pentecostal, Bible Believing Church. Our church believes people are saved by grace believing Jesus accepts people as they are a fresh no matter their past.
The Bible verse that has resonated with me through some some personal difficulties is:
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Romans 8:1-2 NASB
On the 14th April 2019 I took the step to get Baptized in Water in front of my church to symbolically give my life to Jesus.
