What do you like most about where you currently live?

I'm within striking distance of beautiful countryside in both Cheshire and Lancashire, also the North Yorkshire moors are only a short hop over the pennines. My home is in a very quiet residential area.

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

I'm an armed forces veteran (RN),I used to enjoy the camaraderie and travel opportunities.

What are your favourite leisure activities?

I love getting out and about in the countryside.

Where in the world are your favourite places?

I do enjoy foreign travel but I'm increasingly falling in love with locations around the UK, especially, at the moment, Scotland.

What would you do on an ideal date?

I can be quite reserved when meeting someone for the first time, so an ideal first date for me, would be somewhere casual, allowing us both to relax quickly and, hopefully, to start enjoying ourselves.

What are you looking for in a partner?

My ideal partner would be kind, loving, caring and honest. I like to think that I have those qualities myself and I detest liars.

What makes a good relationship?

Please see above. Also, mutual respect, shared values and an honest understanding of the degree of intimacy, if any, that we expect from each other.

What makes you laugh?

I like witty but not catty. Irony but not sarcasm. I'm also not averse to schoolboy humour. Please don't think that you need to be politically correct, I'm not!

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

Obvious but true. My children and grandchildren.
