Currently looking for that special someone to share my life... Though I'm thinking friendship comes before emotional attachment!!

Looking to chat or maybe hang out somewhere local interesting/fun initially, maybe meet for a coffee or a beer etc to see if we have any mutual interest in building a lasting friendship, possibly more. I am certainly not looking for a Friday night fling though I can conjure up some Duck pics as that seems to be a thing around here, maybe even a Swan or two should I be feeling eggstravagant! A little about me below.

I love barbecues and smoked foods as I can cook all sorts of tasty things, I like to experiment in the kitchen with spicy foods, oriental etc, indeed, why let the bottom fall out of your world when you can let the world fall out of your bottom with a spicy curry! Consider myself a bit of an oenophile as am very fond of good wine being most familiar with French reds though alcoholism is something I could never quiet get the hang (over) of, way too many headaches for my taste. Looking to eventually become self employed again for a better life/work balance though I start a new job at the beginning of May, work is, afterall a four letter word! I am also an amateur numismatist, an experienced pyrometrist and am learning wordsmithery and wizardry as I go along though I can't seem to find any rabbits, only fish, butterflies and moths which only seem to turn up on the odd occasion when they can be bothered or buttered or simply fly by for fun.

I like to be outdoors, hiking, camping, wandering around hills and valleys aimlessly with a map and GPS just to find out what's hiding behind the next tree or just relaxing beside a river or lake fishing or just simply watching the world go by. Its nice to relax, get grounded and soak up some natural sounds and energy for a change, I also like rocks and stuff, you know where you are with a good rock solidly reliable are rocks, they never seem to disappoint in being solid, especially if you drop one on your toe though this is not recommended. Sometimes I would just rather be inside wetting my insides instead of being outdoors wetting my outsides, rain and all that being rather inconvenient despite owning various descriptions of waterproof clothing and shelters.

Always happy to chill with a good bottle of vino, a takeaway and a film - box set. I usually prefer sci-fi, fantasy and historical drama's though willing to give most things a watch if I have the time as escapism is a wonderful thing thing at times. Like to occasionally escape with a book when I get the chance, Frank Herbert, Tolkien, Pratchett, CS Lewis. Lewis Carroll, Jack Chalker to name a few of my favourite authors. Recently watched Black Mirror and Halo series which was good, currently watching Terry Pratchett's 'Good Omens' which is quiet fun. I also read tarot cards along with practising other aspects of spirituality and self improvement, visitations, manifestations and synchronicity are most likely in my immediate vicinity, you have been warned.

I have an eclectic taste in music which includes relaxing with classical masterpieces to dancing like a demented spider to techno, rock or smooching to soul and R&B, I don't play any instruments unless you include turntables, cd players, computers, sequencers, drum machines computer synthesizers or waveforms. The fugue in D minor being one of my favourite pieces as everyone likes a big gothic organ!

On a more serious note I aspire to own small yacht one day to hopefully be a travelling, fishing, fossicking and litigating (water/oceanic pollution conservation) while working my way around the world in my own time so I have something to do once I get fed up of work. Meanwhile I must congratulate you on reading thus far, hope I haven't bored you to death, drop me a line and don't be a cold wet fish of a stranger!
