Good conversation, good company and seeing where it leads

I’m a retired teacher, recently returned to Cornwall after living in France for eight years. I enjoy good conversation, history, reading, walking and exploring places with an interesting story behind them.

I’m interested in people and ideas and enjoy discussing almost anything, from local history and current affairs to books, travel and the oddities of everyday life. I’m equally happy with a quiet conversation over coffee, a walk somewhere interesting or discovering somewhere I haven’t been before.

I’m not approaching this with a checklist or a predetermined idea of what I’m looking for. Friendship and companionship would be a very good place to start, and if something more develops naturally, so much the better.

I value kindness, humour, curiosity and being able to talk comfortably with one another. At this stage of life, good company and having someone with whom to share experiences seem rather more important than trying to fit anyone into a particular mould.
