I'm an open book and good communicator. Honest, open minded, genuine, patient, kind, funny, compassionate, trustworthy, very easy going, articulate, loyal, intelligent and often daft man seeks friends. If we get on, we'll see where it goes from there, but friendship is the basis of any good relationship imo. Friendship doesn't come with strings, and isn't dependent on 'extras' (or anything else).

I always prefer to resolve issues by talking them out as friends and reaching a mutually agreeable compromise. I believe in respect. I don't do arguments, sulking or grudges, life is far too short, and even if I disagree with you that's OK. I don't need total agreement, as long as you're not hurting anyone we should get along just fine. I'm looking for an equal counterpart. A partner should be your best friend imo.

If you enjoy putting others first, but are sick of it being a one way street and want it to be genuinely mutual? Consider saying hello.

And why doesn't anyone ever list their bad traits alongside the good ones? Of course I'd be happy to do so, if I had any lol. If we danced you'd need steel toe cap boots to protect your feet (I don't dance other than the swaying/side-step slow ones, and even then I try to avoid it).

Age, looks, economic situation, sizes, employment/social status, health etc. are totally irrelevant to me, and no I'm not just saying that. Try me.
A good heart matters most imo. I care what kind of person you are, how you treat others, that you're moral, honest, trustworthy, loyal and compassionate etc.

Someone fairly local would be ideal, as I don't travel much and rely on taxis. If you travel, I don't mind where you're from. I wouldn't mind travelling sometimes if we were going together. I've been badly hurt in the past, but that just taught me how not to behave. I have no baggage or paranoia about it. Not the jealous sort, if you have friends or family that's a good thing imo and I have no desire to intervene.

Left wing means I care about others and don't think we should gave all the money to the super rich, but other than that I don't really get involved in politics. I believe a society is judged on how it treats the worst off.

I enjoy lots of things that aren't listed on here, eg cosmology, ancient history, computers/internet, making music in my own amateur way (but I'm no real musician). Or with the right company I enjoy pubs, restaurants, theatre, etc. but I don't go much as it'd be no fun on my own. Just as happy having a picnic somewhere on our own, it's the company that counts not how many languages the maitre d speaks.
Gardening extends to cutting the grass, not ID'ing plants lol, but I enjoy keeping my little patch nice. If you asked me to weed the garden, I think only roses, daffodils and daisies would survive because I have no idea what the others are.

I don't need all of your interests to match all of mine, as long as we could find some things to share - even if that's just each other's good company.

It's been explained to me that every creep out there says they're 'nice' and 'not like that' RE your nasty ex, but what is a fella to say when it's true? I realise (now) that there are a lot of dodgy people around of both genders, so I'm happy to prove myself. Needs must. Just know that both genders get the idiots. What some women have suggested to me would make at least one of your eye brows raise! And yes, we get the scammers too unfortunately.

I'm very happy with my own company. I've been single a very long time by choice, but have now decided that it's time not to be alone anymore. I miss the company, companionship, and having someone to care for and them care for me.

My kids are all grown up and long gone now, though I loved being a dad. I was a single dad for a while too. Loved every second of it. I don't mind if you have children of any age. I'm a kiddie whisperer and tend to get on with them all from babies onwards. Best baby burper in the business lol.

I don't have any pets, as I'm cutting down on eating red meat. (not really lol). Like most animals except vicious dogs and the weird ones eg I refused to hold my friend's tarantula while he cleaned the case out. You hold it, I'll clean lol. And no, I didn't want to feed it any live mice.

They say you need three types of friends in your life: One who will be honest with you, to call out your BS and hold you accountable to what you say. The second is a confidant, who you can talk about anything with and they'll protect that information. The third is the ride or die type, who you can ring at 3am and say I need a place to stay... and their only answer is "I'm on my way". If you can get all three in one person... there's a true friend. That's what I offer.

PS I don't work due to health reasons, so gold diggers/status seekers keep on walking. I described my body as average because none of the tick boxes fit: I have a slim body, and a pregnant belly lol. I was underweight and the weight gain meds went wrong! So I'm about 90% slim, and working on the belly. I have several health issues, and I'm not very mobile RE walking far, so no long walks for me. But I find a taxi fixes most problems, and I'm happy to get one to wherever we would have walked and we can still watch the sunrises and sunsets, or the ocean, etc.

PPS I don't do online sex talk, at all, ever. Sorry, not sorry. I wouldn't know where to start anyway. So if that is what you're looking for I'm not your man. Nor do I want naked pics or you doing erm things, and won't be sending you any of me. Not into one night stands, though FWB might be acceptable only IF we were actually real friends.
