Mayfly is single and is seeking females for friendship.

I'm discovering a new me after years of self-medication. I can be witty, I have broad interests, don't like small talk, have many of the traits that go with being neurodivergent and was once diagnosed as having Asperger's syndrome, but you can't say that any more
I'm learning to play the recorder, but in the style of an Irish whistle. I write music but have grown to love trad reels and jigs. I play the guitar, or used to, mostly fingerpicking style on acoustic. I'd love to try playing with someone else.
I can be cynical, don't believe anything unless I see proof, am slow to trust but can bring a lot of enthusiasm to the table. I can also be blunt, but I apply the same rules to myself, I'm no fan of self-deception. And I don't like rudeness, or inconsiderate behaviour. I think that's a good mix, but you would have to be the judge.
I love nature, love growing my own veg, and foraging for wild plants and fungi (been doing it for 50 years).
In the kitchen, I can't follow a recipe to save my life, always end up improvising, and often what emerges is more than just edible! I enjoy making lacto pickles, jams and other preserves, kefir and yoghurt. I should have been a scientist but never took my degree into the workplace.
I can't tell you what I'm like socially because it's been changing weekly since I stopped my evening tipple and went dry (if 1 or 2 units a week can be called that).
I'm honest, self-honest, self-aware and don't buy into false narratives, which makes me unpopular with a lot of people. I have no tattoos, piercings, or other body mods, and I don't plan to change that. You might be able to guess what I think of such ornamentation from the previous statement.
I like my own company a bit too much for many folk, and that probably doesn't make me good relationship material. But I would love to meet a like-minded female to share ideas with, maybe try doing some social stuff together, see what could be.
