What do you like most about where you currently live?

Recently moved to the Peak District. Love the countryside, lovely roads to drive and bike, comfortable environment, quiet places to be and with friendly folk

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

I was most recently working for a Civil Engineering
Consultancy, previously, a Licensee, and before that, in the Ministry of Defence mainly overseas.
I retired last year after 46 years working - about time I retired!!

What are your favourite leisure activities?

Country walking, motorcycling and driving, discovering new places to visit, enjoying a drink and a meal out... or a cosy night at home, sharing a dinner/take away and a bottle of our favourite wine

Where in the world are your favourite places?

Newcastle Upon Tyne (Aye, I'm a Geordie, like!) Provincial and Southern France, Germany's Mosel wine region, want to visit Southern Italy and Sicily but would love to see the Italian lakes.

Where in the world would you love to visit?

All those places in Europe I have yet to discover.
I am not interested in long-haul flights or having holidays on 'the other side of the planet'

What would you do on an ideal date?

Agree to meet each other for a first date in a neutral place for a coffee, drink, lunch or dinner... A walk in the countryside, a visit together to somewhere new for us both.

What are you looking for in a partner?

A petite, pretty. smart & elegant woman who prides herself in her appearance. For her to want to become a very good friend and my romantic 'other-half'.

What makes a good relationship?

Understanding each others plus's and negatives, recognising our strong points and weaknesses, to allow us to enjoy being in each others company, where compatibility is fundamental in a good relationship.
To share likes and hobbies but equally, for us to each have our own space to allow us to enjoy our own, too.

What makes you laugh?

Genuine comedy (without all the effing and blinding, which I just don't find funny - no, I'm not a prude!)
From Monty Python to Lee Mack, Father Ted to Fawlty Towers, Blackadder to Billy Connolly... too many to list.I enjoy hearing a good laugh - it makes me laugh!

What music do you like?

Rock, Progressive Rock, Rock and Roll, Blues, some Jazz-Rock, World Music, Flamenco and Classical guitar

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

To live in France, Germany and Greece and enjoy continental living
To have two fabulous kids - a successful son and a very gifted arty daughter both now in their 30's

What are you looking forward to in the future?

Enjoying retired life with a compatible loving partner where we can share moments to treasure in our 'Golden Years'... and many of them, I hope with years of discovery, enjoyment and fun to come!
