What do you like most about where you currently live?

the house is mine, I have completely landscaped the front and back gardens and these are now a constant source of pleasure, the house is detached so the amount of noise from neighbours is minimal, the house is in a low crime area with good access to major roads and coastal ports etc. The neighbours are friendly and the general area has an interesting history and is surrounded by country side.

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

I am fully retired and enjoy a very wide range of activities that are both mentally and physically challenging.

What are your favourite leisure activities?

Exercising, reading, walking, nature, gardening, embroidery, playing music : clarinet, flute and guitar. I enjoy cooking and can cook most dishes (including traditional Sunday lunch and Christmas dinner; with all the trimmings!), swimming, family, social interaction/just a good old fashioned "gossip" !

Where in the world are your favourite places?

Scotland, Ireland, U.K. Germany, the Weald of Kent. and in my own conservatory/man cave.

Where in the world would you love to visit?

Japan and Cambodia (where I sponsor a young village girl and their family).

What would you do on an ideal date?

Find very pleasant restaurant, order quite a simple but well-cooked meal, and gossip, talk and talk.

What are you looking for in a partner?

A "golden friendship"

What makes a good relationship?

Excellent communication, mutual respect, trust and allowing the other person the "space and time and freedom" to express themselves.

What makes you laugh?

Most things make me laugh. Being on my own, I often make up my own jokes and tend to see the funny side of most situations. Laughter is often the best antidote for dealing with disappointments

What music do you like?

Any kind of genre : classical (mainly) , but also jazz, calypso , some modern classical music... but not musicals!

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

Achieving the success I have had academically.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

I am hoping to find a compatible companion/friend to share the rest of my life with.
