I’ve been resetting, rediscovering a few things I love, and seeing what’s out there. I'm currently navigating an amicable divorce, so I’m keeping things entirely low-pressure, open-minded, and focused on connections.

When not working or sorting out life admin, you can usually find me immersed in strategy board games or wargaming. I enjoy hobbies that require a bit of tactical thinking, but mostly I just enjoy playing out a story with friends.

I'm quite often the one making people around me laugh, which is a relatively recent thing - my sense of humour seems to have improved with age! I’m a Christian (though disconnected from it, and it's low priority right now so shouldn't really be a factor), and I likely have some undiagnosed neurospicyness in the mix.

Just looking to connect with some new people and see where things go: I don't know many people in the north east (originally from That London).

These sort of sites tend to throw me people from all sorts of places; I'm primarily looking for local contacts, but am willing to look a little further afield. Probably into Northumberland, Yorkshire, Cumbria and out to the east coast. Manchester is probably too far, which is a shame as it seems to be a popular place on here!

In a fortunate position of really liking my job. I work in learning design in higher education, which involves working with subject experts on how they deliver their courses. Lots of variety day-to-day, with bits of project management, and IT and data-nerding included.

I have two children (co-parenting going fine, and not looking for a third parent for them) who are obviously (and will always be) a massive part of my life.

You should message me if you're at a point in life where you value a good balance of doing your own thing and relaxing with good company. Definitely message if you're a fellow nerd of some description. Whether it’s books, data, sci-fi, or something entirely niche, I appreciate people who have a genuine passion for the things they love. Or, if you have a nice bum.

Can be a bit flexible, but sensible age range is probably about mid-30s to mid 50s. Strong preference for non-smokers, although happy to be friends with smokers... You'd have to be extremely pretty for me to want to kiss you though :D

Appreciate people who engage in conversations rather than giving minimal answers to questions I ask - if you don't ask anything back, the conversation will die very quickly. And if your profile is filled with 'fill in later' or 'ask me', it'd be good if you actually had something to say if I do ask! :D
