I generally like to engage in activities and cultivate qualities that foster present-moment awareness, emotional balance, compassion, and inner peace. I enjoy simple experiences and authentic connections over material possessions or constant striving. The mindful person is happy and joyful. I have a cheerful disposition most of the time, and am willing to share that joy with others. I am old enough to remember times with no phones and no personal computers at home and life was generally a lot easier. You weren't on call 24 hours a day. You weren't expected to 'do the grind' or whatever the term is. Smart(?) phones are a huge distraction and most people I have known, live their entire lives through the lens of their phone. I have decided that for the rest of my life, I'm going to live life the way I remember it before all the internet and madness of being connected ruined our society.
