Hi,
I'm hoping to meet a nice guy on here for friendship and romance. It would be great to meet someone interested in art or music, but that's not essential. I'd just like to meet a guy who is fun, caring and able to communicate. I'd like to keep it fairly casual initially until I get to know you; quite frankly, it's impossible to commit to someone from the start if you haven't had chance to get to know each other well.
That magic 'chemistry' thing matters to me as well as a genuine sense of connection. It's proved elusive so far, but I'm optimistic. :)
I'd like to think I'm a caring person and I can be quite entertaining at times. I have a good sense of humour which usually takes people by surprise. My friends put up with me though!
I am an artistic person but I've worked with scientists for years so I have an interest in lots of different fields. I love music and play guitar. I have been having some problems with my arm recently which has been really frustrating and restricted my guitar playing, so I'm having to listen at the moment rather than play. I'll have to find something else interesting to do.
I am more inclined towards being veggie than not so would not get on with a hunter or fisherman, but I am from a farming community originally (Yorkshire Dales) and I understand the farming life. I do care very much how people treat animals in their care.
Well, I guess I'm mixture of all sorts really, so make of it what you will.

What do you like most about where you currently live?
I like Norwich; it's a fine city. It has the advantages of a city and yet you can still bump into people you know on the market. |

What do you enjoy most about your current job?
I get to meet intelligent people of all nationalities. I am constantly surprised at the results of the artistic job. |

What are your favourite leisure activities?
Music, playing guitar, art, reading, browsing the internet, sudoku, cooking, crafts (be warned, I like knitting!) |

Where in the world are your favourite places?
France, the moors, Cornwall, wilderness generally. There are places I'd like to go to, e.g. Italy, Catalonia (to see my friend there), south of France, Spain, US, anywhere I can see the aurora borealis. |

Where in the world would you love to visit?
Paris, Aix, Amsterdam, Venice, Florence, Amalfi coast, and lots of places in US. (I've just added Florence to my list after hearing about it from a friend.) |

Have fun, feel comfortable with him and be excited at the thought of meeting again. |

What are you looking for in a partner?
Someone warm and loving who wants me for me. A man who can be fun and light-hearted. Someone who has the maturity to deal with different situations in a wise and rational way. |

Stimulating conversation, warm, loving attitude, lots of laughter, physical compatibility, mutual understanding and support. |

What makes you laugh?
A good story-teller, TV progs. such as Friends, Two and Half Men, French and Saunders, Peter Kay. The things people say spontaneously. |

What music do you like?
Anything with good guitar players or a nice melody. Original, roots music. Folk and world music. Blues, some Jazz. |

What has been the highlight of your life so far?
Three years at university, meeting lots of wonderful people and enjoying the world of ideas. Learning guitar. My two children and my family. The internet - a fantastic development. Interesting stuff to read. Many fascinating colleagues. Visits to interesting places. |

Some incredible amateur musicians, songs with feeling, being part of an ancient story-telling tradition, the surprising contributions, the cameraderie, the lack of ego, the dancers, and lots of fun! |
